  • Board of Directors

    The government of the Albia Area Chamber of Commerce, the direction of its work, and the control of its property is vested in Board of Directors of 12 members including 5 officers. The board of directors meets monthly to discuss the direction of the chamber and community involvement.

    Laura Teno, Executive Director, Albia Area Chamber of Commerce, 641.932.5108, albiachamber@albiachamber.org -  Laura is a native of Albia, graduating from Albia Community High School in 1994 and Indian Hills Community College in 1996 from Computer Systems/Networks.  Laura and her husband, Mark, returned to Albia in 2011 with their 3 children; Max, Megan & Morgan.  Laura is an active volunteer in the community as a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, CCD teacher, Altar & Rosary Society; Albia Community School District Technology Board, classroom volunteer; Albia Rotary Club; Albia Trails Committee; Monroe County Health Care Foundation; Albia Soccer Club Board Member and coach; Monroe County Little League Softball Board Member and coach; Monroe County Fair board and 4-H volunteer; Welcome Home Soldier and Victorian Stroll Festival of Trees coordinator.

    Ryan Ammons, United Country-Hawkeye Farm Management, 641.932.7796, ryan@uciowa.com -  Ryan is a native of Albia. He graduated from Albia High School in 2004.  He graduated Iowa State University in 2012 with a degree in Business Management.  In November 2012, he joined his father and brother at Hawkeye Farm Mgmt. Ryan has been in the Iowa Air National Guard since 2003.  He is currently a member of the
    American Legion, Albia Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Monroe County Hospital
    Foundation Board. 

    Tyler Boley, Mossy Oak Properties, 641.932.1234, tboley@mossyoakproperties.com - Tyler has lived in Albia for 2 1/2 years.  He owns and operates Mossy Oak Properties.  He is orginally from Keosauqua, Iowa and after high school joined the Marine Corps.  He received his Bachelor's of Science degree from Iowa State in Turfgrass Science.  He became a licensed real estate agent in 2011 and became a broker in 2013.  Tyler and his wife, Jenny have a daughter, Piper.
    Tyler has been selling real estate full time for about 3 1/2 years.  He belongs to many organizations including Pheasants Forever, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, and American Legion.  He is an active member on the Albia Fire Department.  He is also a member of Realtors Land Institute where he is currently working towards becoming an Accredited Land Specialist.  He belongs to the Iowa and National chapter of the Real Estate Association and a member of the Rathbun Board of Realtors.     

    Becky Teno, Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative, 641.932.7126, bteno@cvrec.com -  Becky is a lifelong resident of Monroe county.  She is a 1995 graduate of Albia Community High School and a 1996 graduate of IHCC with a diploma in bookkeeping/accounting.   Becky is the Executive Assistant/HR Coordinator for Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative in Albia.  She has been with the cooperative for a total of eight years.  She and her husband, Mike, have 3 sons – Jack, Joe and Jake.  They reside on their family farm south of Melrose. The Teno’s stay busy with the family farm and attending tons of the boys’ baseball and basketball games. 

    Christy Grove, Peoples State Bank, 641.932.7887, cgrove@peoplesiowa.com - Christy is the Mortgage Loan Officer for Peoples State Bank.  She previously worked for Community 1st Credit Union for 7 years and prior that she was Manager of Goody’s Family Clothing in Ottumwa.  Grove graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Finance & Housing. She was previously very active in the Ottumwa chamber and served on several chamber committees; chamber ambassadors, holiday nights & lights, and several others over the years.She currently resides in Rural Blakesburg with her husband, Adam, who works at John Deere and four daughters: Elyse, Carleigh, Reagan and Meredyth.  As a family they enjoy attending the girls sporting events, boating and camping.

    Cindy Cronin, First Iowa State Bank, 641.932.2144, ccronin@firstiowastatebank.com - Cindy Cronin graduated from Albia High School in 1999.  She received her Business Administration degree from AIB College of Business in 2002 and started her banking career at Wells Fargo Bank in Ankeny where she held several different positions.   Cindy married James Cronin in 2003 and moved back to Albia.  She started working at First Iowa State Bank in August of 2006 in the bookkeeping department and is currently a Loan Specialist.  Cindy has two girls, Makenna 9 and Addyson 6.   She is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Alter Rosary.  She has been active in the community coaching T-Ball, Little League Softball, Girl Scout Leader, and a member of the Fair Queen Committee.

    Heather Thompson, Peoples State Bank, 641.932.7887, hthompson@peoplesiowa.com - Heather is a native of Albia and 1994 graduate of Albia Community High School. She attended Creighton University and graduated in 1998 with a degree in Psychology. Heather and her husband, Bion, returned to Albia in 2015 when Heather began employment with Peoples State Bank as the Marketing Director. Heather is an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; volunteering as President of Altar & Rosary and Co-Chair of the Election Day Dinner. She is actively involved with the Welcome Home Solider Monument, Victorian Stroll Committee, Shoppes of Victorian Albia, Albia Trails Committee, the Prosper Committee, and volunteers to assist with school projects.

     

    Kay Spieler, Mossy Oak Properties, 641.932.1234, kspieler@mossyoakproperties.com - Kay, a native of Southern Iowa returned to Monroe County in 2012 and lives in Lovilia with her husband Mike and youngest son. Mike and Kay have four children and two grandchildren.  Kay is a graduate of Ft. Madison High School and the Iowa School of Banking. She also attended Southeastern Community College.  She joined Mossy Oak Properties - Albia in May 2013 in the position of Office Manager before getting her Real Estate license in 2015. Previously she had worked in the banking industry for 25 years with 19 years in a management position. 

    She has spent many years volunteering for events that benefited people with disabilities. She is currently involved with her church council as council president. She is serving on the Hope Haven Area Development Center, Burlington Board of Directors for the last 5 years and is currently the board treasurer.  She is a member of Lovilia Parks, Community Development, and Fall Festival committees and also a member of the Monroe County Hospital Auxiliary.

     

    Kaytlyn Waters, Care Initiatives Hospice, 641.932.3488, kwaters@careinitiatives.org - Kaytlyn is a native of Albia, graduating from Albia Community High School in 2011 and Kaplan University in 2015 with a degree in Human Services. Kaytlyn works for Care Initiatives Hospice as the Community Representative and Marketer.  Kaytlyn's husband Riley, and six year old son Kayden enjoy traveling and doing anything outdoors. She is an active member of The Gate Community Church and their annual Victorian Stroll Christmas Shoppe, Albia Rotary Club, and The Animal Rescue League of Iowa as an advocate for bully breeds.

     

    Kim Wilson, Homestead Assisted Living, 641.932.2102, k.wilson@homesteadofalbia.com - Kim is a graduate of Albia High School Class of 2000. She graduated from Indian Hills Community College for Associate Degree Nursing. She has worked in Healthcare for 18 years.  She is currently the Executive Director at Homestead Assisted Living. Kim lives in Albia with her husband George and their 2 children, Cole and Grant. George has worked for Rubel Roofing Company for 13 years serving Monroe County and the surrounding area. Kim is a member of the Albia Rotary and the Trinity United Methodist Church.


    Stephanie Williams, Monroe County Hospital & Clinics, 641.932.1756, swilliams@mchalbia.com –  Originally from Fruitland, IA, Stephanie moved to Albia in 2012. Her husband, Brandon, is a native of Albia. Stephanie graduated from Louisa-Muscatine High School and Muscatine Community College. After graduating from Muscatine Community College, she furthered her education at Iowa Wesleyan University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Human Resources and Management.  Stephanie has worked for Monroe County Hospital since 2014. She started out as a Patient Service Representative in the Medical Clinic and was promoted to Human Resources Generalist/Payroll Administrator in 2015. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, camping, and boating.   

     

    Zach Shank, Hy-Vee, 641.932.7131, 1009Director@hy-vee.com – Zach has lived in Albia for 10 months with wife, Beth and three daughters: Grace, Mya & Harper.  He has been with Hy-Vee for 14 years in many different locations.  Most recently Zach moved from Worthington, MN where he was also in the Store Director role.

     

    Wes Aschelman, State Farm, 641.932.7950, wes.aeschliman.exif@statefarm.com -    Wes was born and raised in Davis County, IA and graduated from Davis County High in 2004. He received a finance degree, risk management & insurance certificate, and was a three year letter winner in football at the University of Iowa.   Wes started working in real estate after college and then got in to sales at Eastern Iowa Tire.  Wes just took over the local State Farm Agency on the Northwest corner of the square in Albia and is thankful for the amazing Albia Community.  Wes is also a member of the Albia Rotary Club.   Wes resides in rural Davis County with his wife, Randell, and three sons, Oliver, Tobias, and Rory.  Randell teaches at a private preschool in Bloomfield.  The family likes to spend their time fishing, playing, and enjoying life.
