Victorian Stroll Highlights - First Saturday in December
Breakfast with Santa hosted at the Trinity Family Life Center, 1115 A Ave. East from 8:30-10:30a.m. by Monroe County Hospice Auxiliary .
The Garden train and Dept. 56 Display can be found in the First Iowa State Bank on the North side of the square from 9a.m. to 8p.m.
The Christmas Shoppe will be held at the KC Hall located on N. Clinton, one block north of the square
Stop in the Chamber from 10a.m. to 8p.m. to view the Festival of Trees and cast a vote for your favorite one. Ribbons on sale for the Remembrance Tree @$2.50 each. A Silent Auction will also be held in the Chamber with items donated on display for the public to view and bid on.
Free Kids movie will play in the King Opera House, 115 Benton Ave. E, from 11a.m. to 12:30p.m. SANTA will be on hand to pass out goody bags for each child. Adult tickets are $4.00
Cookies & Canvas, 1:30pm at the Gate Church. $15 each, must register in advance at the Chamber.
Albia Museum, 114 A Ave. East, will be open from 4-8p.m. and will feature a PLAYER PIANO and the 2nd grade display of decorated Christmas trees.
Carriage rides start on the North side of the square from 5-8p.m. Take a horse drawn carriage ride around the square. Take in the beautiful Christmas lighting that adorns the 92 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places as well as the lights on the courtyard trees.
Mitchell’s Kettle Korn will be available to purchase on the West side of the square from 5-8p.m.
Enjoy stepping back in time while watching the Shannon's School of Dance production of "The Nutcracker" at 8:30pm.
All merchants are open from 10a.m. to 8p.m. Come see what Albia merchants and restaurateurs have to offer.
Main Stroll Event from 6p.m. to 8p.m. in the Downtown Business District
Warm yourself and enjoy live entertainment in one of three hospitality centers from 6-8 p.m. with a cup of hot cocoa or coffee and a home baked cookie located in each of the two community banks and in the courthouse.
Civil War Re-enactment presented by 1861 to 1865 Civil War Re-enactors, 3rd Iowa, Company C, Light Artillery. Located on the Northwest corner of the Courthouse lawn.
Watch a rope maker near the gazebo on the courthouse lawn.
Sample freshly roasted chestnuts from a street vendor located on the north side of the square during the Stroll.
Watch an ice sculptor on the southwest corner of the square.
Enjoy Soups on the Go while Strolling. The Local Boy Scouts will be serving chili and Jonathan Vaughn will be serving homemade soups.
Watch Sugar Creek Cloggers and enjoy soup with sandwich at the American Legion.
Authentic Blacksmith will be at work on the North side of the square.
Watch a Ferrier at work on the West side of the square.
