Stroll Kick off on December 5th
Come be a part of Lighting Rudolf’s nose with Santa at the Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, December 5th. Dinner will be served from 5pm – 7pm with Santa arriving at 7pm. Pre-order and carry-out options are available. Call the Chamber for more details: 641.932.5108.
Early Stroll Events begin at 8am December 7th
Breakfast with Santa hosted at the Trinity Family Life Center, 1115 A Ave. East from 8:30am – 10:30am by Every Step Hospice Care Services & Auxiliary .
The Garden train and Dept. 56 Display can be found in the First Iowa State Bank on the North side of the square from 9am – 8pm
Stop in the Chamber from 10am – 8pm to view the Festival of Trees and cast a vote for your favorite one. Ribbons on sale for the Remembrance Tree @$2.50 each. A Silent Auction will also be held in the Chamber with items donated on display for the public to view and bid on.
Come be entertained from 10am – 2pm by ‘Nauvoo On The Road’ at Bluff Creek Archery.
They will be displaying rug braiding, weaving, and children’s games.
Patty Rowland is sharing her rare collection of antique & vintage irons with a display, program and discussion at 2:00 at the Gate Church on the East side of the Albia square
Free to the public. This is an interesting array of irons spanning from first century B.C. thru the Victorian era and their uses for every trade and category of clothing.
Have fun creating a Fiber Art Christmas Craft at the Fiber Art Shoppe. Join us for 30 minutes anytime between 1pm – 4pm
Fee: $5 Materials & Instruction Included. Age 12 & up.
Albia Museum, 114 A Ave. East, will be open from 4 – 8pm
Featuring the Kindergarten through 2nd grade display of decorated Christmas trees.
Old Time Victorian Photo Co. 5pm – 8pm at The Gate Church
Dress up in Victorian clothing for a fun portrait experience! A variety of Victorian era clothing items and props will be provided (or feel free to bring your own), along with your choice of two backdrops. Take home the perfect keepsake from this year’s Stroll. $10 for one 4×6 print. Your 4×6 image will print while you wait. Additional print sizes and poses will be available for purchase online.
Carriage rides start on the North side of the square from 5pm – 8pm
Take a horse drawn carriage ride around the square and take in the beautiful Christmas lighting that adorns the 92 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as well as, the lights on the courtyard trees.
Mitchell’s Kettle Korn will be available to purchase on the West side of the square from 5pm – 8pm
Main Stroll Event from 6pm – 8pm in the Downtown Business District
Come take a step back in time and experience the Christmas season at our annual Victorian Stroll. In addition to the live window scenes and the many carolers singing in the streets, courthouse and stores, there is so much more to see and do. Most of all we’d love for you to take in the joy and warmth of the holiday season and have a prosperous New Year!
In the Spirit of Victorian Times, the people of Albia have graciously baked countless cookies, dug deep into their pockets to fund the Stroll and volunteered their time and talents to make the Victorian Stroll a success for more than 20 years.
Find your way through town by the hand lit luminaries lining Main St.
Warm yourself and enjoy live entertainment in one of three hospitality centers from 6pm – 8pm
with a cup of hot cocoa or coffee and a home baked cookie located in each of the two community banks and in the courthouse.
Civil War Re-enactment presented by 1861 to 1865 Civil War Re-enactors, 3rd Iowa, Company C, Light Artillery. Located on the Northwest corner of the Courthouse lawn.
The American Legion or the Fair Board at the First Christian Church will be serving soups & desserts from 5pm – 8pm
Enjoy some Christmas Entertainment and grab a bite to eat while you warm up.
Sample freshly roasted chestnuts from a street vendor located on the north side of the square during the Stroll.
Enjoy Soups on the Go while Strolling. Jonathan Vaughn will be serving homemade soups.
Authentic Blacksmith will be at work on the west side of the courtyard.

Ice sculpting will be returning this year to the Stroll!
Professional Ice Sculpture, Chef David Jensen, from Urbandale will be sculpting from 5pm – 8pm
